Our Court's Mission

Our mission is to resolve civil disputes and criminal indictments in a fair and timely manner and at a reasonable expense in accordance with the laws of Ohio.  We also strive to provide for community safety by supervising and rehabilitating offenders post sentence by carefully addressing offender needs to eliminate criminal activity.

Jurisdiction

The Tuscarawas County Court of Common Pleas, General Trial Division, is a trial court with countywide jurisdiction in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.  Each county has its own court of common pleas, which is part of the state court system of Ohio.

The court of common pleas has jurisdiction in three main types of cases: Domestic, Civil and Criminal.
