  • Judge Michael J. Ernest took office on January 2, 2021 upon the retirement of Judge Edward Emmett O'Farrell.

  • The Ohio Supreme Court issued an order addressing notarization requirements for certain Supreme Court forms during the present current coronavirus pandemic.

  • There are several Court-adopted domestic relations, juvenile, general, and probate forms that require notarization. Due to the social distancing requirements, the Court has approved a temporary version of these forms that eliminate the need for notarization during this public health emergency.

  • Court receives an "A" grade from a national parent group. Click here for article.

  • Scam Warning:  The Times-Reporter posted an article about a citizen reporting that she received a call from a person who claimed to be calling from the Tuscarawas County Courts telling her she had a default judgement against her.  The caller ID showed a local Court number according to the citizen.  Our Court and Clerk of Court will not call parties to a case to inform them of judgments; such notice will always come in a written Court document sent to the party to the case or their attorney.

  • The Court was awarded a grant for technology from the Supreme Court of Ohio and has used the money to purchase video conference technology for the Magistrate's courtroom.
  • The Court was awarded a 2020 technology grant from the Supreme Court of Ohio and has used the money to purchase hardware and software so that staff can work remotely as needed.
