MANDATORY FINE AND COSTS FOR JUVENILE SAFETY BELT CITATIONS

• $30.00 Fine & Court Costs for Driver
• $20.00 Fine & Court Costs for Passenger

TRAFFIC WAIVER
When a Juvenile is charged with a first offense, minor traffic violation, they may choose to waive their Court appearance by appearing at the Juvenile Clerks Office with a parent prior to their assigned court date and paying a fine and court costs. Exceptions to this would be a charge of:

• Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• Driving with no operator’s license
• Driving with a suspended driver’s license
• Reckless operation
• Speed of 75 miles per hour and above; and/or 20 miles or more over the posted speed limit
• Speed in a posted school zone
• Failure to control/assured clear distance or any citation involving an accident
• School bus violations
• Fleeing and eluding a police officer
• Leaving the scene of an accident/hit skip
• Drag racing
• Fictitious or altered plates

COURT APPEARANCES
Arraignments for Juvenile Traffic Court are held primarily on Thursday mornings beginning at 8:15. Juvenile will be notified by mail two weeks prior to their scheduled arraignment of the date and time.
