Dear Tuscarawas County Citizens,

I want to thank you for having the confidence in me to be your county treasurer.  During my first 8 years as your Tuscarawas County Treasurer, my staff and I have worked hard to continue to improve the level of service provided to you.

The real estate tax escrow or pre-payment program continues to grow in popularity.  We now have over 800 taxpayers taking advantage of this program.  This important program has allowed taxpayers to pay their taxes in 10 equal installments rather than paying 2 large real estate tax payments per year.  The only requirement for this program is that all your taxes are paid up-to-date.  Please click on the link on the side of the page for more information, or just call the office.

All tax payments are now online.  This has assisted title companies, banks and taxpayers with researching delinquencies and tax payments from their offices or homes.  Now it can be done online and there is no need to travel to the courthouse to do so.  Just click the Tax Payment link and this will take you to the real estate search section.  Start your search by parcel ID number or address.  After locating the property, click on the billing tab and you will find the taxpayer information.

The other important duty of the county treasurer is to invest the county’s money in the fixed income market.  The monies are invested in secure investments.  In 2006 over $2,384,000 in investment income was generated for the county.  These monies are important because they are used in the operation of the county.
