Motor vehicle and Watercraft titles must be completed in accordance with the
Ohio Revised Code and Directive of the Registrar of the Bureau of Motor Vehicle,
Director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Tax
Commissioner. This web page is designed to provide you with the information
necessary to transfer a Certificate of Title to a motor vehicle, outboard motor
or watercraft. The
Notary Rules sections provides a detailed description of an Ohio
Certificate of Title. We are also providing you with information on
transactions involving estates,
transfers on death designations and surviving spouse transactions as well as general titling
information. You can download the documents and affidavits from the FORMS
section needed to properly complete titling transactions under various
circumstances.
A
copy of the
Title
Division’s Annual Report
can be viewed. This report shows
the titling statistics and trends for
Tuscarawas
County
residents as well as statistics on title transactions issued by the Tuscarawas
County Clerk of Courts’ Title Division.
Another
feature of this site allows you to check motor vehicle, watercraft and outboard motor titling information. If
you know the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or the Ohio Title Number, you
can make an inquiry. The inquiry would show the
title status and brands on any existing
Ohio
Certificate of Title record issued since 1992.
The brands show if the motor vehicle was rebuilt from salvaged, if the
motor vehicle record shows any odometer discrepancy and other valuable
information that you may want to know before you make a purchase of a used motor
vehicle.
We
are also providing you with links to the Ohio
Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Ohio
Department of Natural Resources. Comments
on this site can be e-mailed to clarke@co.tuscarawas.oh.us. |
